5. Exploitation of microbial bioactive compounds

Through our perenial collaboration with Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, and more recently with Olgram we target microorganisms from different sources for the production of novel extracts and compounds for dermo-cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. Our goal is to find novel antimicrobial natural products or those with potential use in oncology and in the control of bacterial skin pathologies such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or acne

In addition to industry, this activity has been funded though a number of nationally and european funded projects such as the finished ANR MALICA, and SECIL , or the ongoing project ANR AMALIA

More recently the study of microbial natural products as possible anti-biofilm or antifouling agents have been through different collaborations, including with the company Terreal, and the CNRS-fundend prematuration project PAINTBIO.
